I never thought I would be able to run a half marathon! Ersan designed a brilliant training plan for me and I was a complete beginner before I signed for Battersea Park Half Marathon 2024 in London. I spoke to Ersan about my nerves and that I really didn’t think that I could run a half marathon. Ersan gave me a plan that built up my speed and distance. I was supported throughout the whole 4 months of my training and learnt about interval and tempo runs. I wanted to complete my run in less than 2 and half hours and I just about managed it! I couldn’t have done it without his support and training. I would love to run it even faster next time.

After three disappointing marathons, I started training according to a plan tailored by Ersan. He monitored my progress daily, guiding and adjusting my workouts. This gave me extra motivation – on days when things didn’t go well, it would have been easy to quit, but knowing my coach was invested in my success made me push through. I felt a responsibility not only to follow the plan but also to honor his effort.
Although marathon training is demanding and the workouts were challenging, I truly enjoyed the process. After ten weeks of preparation, I reached my lowest weight in seven years of running. I stayed injury-free, which is a testament to how well-balanced the training was.
On race day, despite 300 meters of elevation gain, I improved my marathon personal best by ten minutes (3:21:10) and finished feeling strong. At that moment, I knew I had reached a new level as a runner. Shortly afterward, I went on to break my half-marathon personal best – twice, and felt confident I could improve my times in shorter distances as well.
